Stories about musical nature is a children book written, illustrated and translated from Swedish by me and published by Adagio Publisher. The title in Swedish is ”Berättelser om den musikaliska naturen”. It is a book about living in harmony with nature and believing in your dreams. The illustrations are imaginative and colorful. The stories engage the readers by asking them to listen to sunflowers’ song, to hugging the apple trees and paying attention to small wonders around us.
Music and nature play the main role in this book consisting of six different stories. The nature is seen through the eyes of children and their fantasy. Sunflowers play the violin, weeping willows cry tears of joy and apple trees wouldn’t blossom without music.
The book begins with a dream: the Sunflower’s dream of playing the violin. Everybody has a dream. Most dreams come true if we believe in them.
A lonesome apple tree doesn’t want to blossom because nobody loves it. The tree eventually understands that it is loved by many. Love is everywhere, we just have to notice it. Ten Suns from the Universe meet up in the sky and talk about their journeys. The Earth’s Sun is very proud of his planet and invites his friends to see the wonderful things that exist on Earth.
In another story the weeping willows cry tears of happiness when they hear violin music and their tears turn into coins of gold. Towards the end of the book the children and the garden play a concert together. The final story brings about a tired little girl who can’t sleep during night. The whole garden listen to her and help her. When the night comes, everyone goes to sleep: the sunflowers, the apple trees, the sun, the swans, the moon and all children.
The illustrations are imaginative and colorful. The stories engage the readers by asking them to listen to sunflowers’ song, to hugging the apple trees and paying attention to small wonders around us.
